“Not only do I more fully recognize how shame and guilt have influenced me, I am aware of how other people around me use shame and guilt in their interactions."

Brené Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston where she holds the Huffington Foundation – Brené Brown Endowed Chair at The Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy, and most recently completed a seven-year, cross-sector study on courageous leadership.
The most significant finding from Brené’s latest research is that courage is a collection of four skill sets that are teachable, measurable, and observable. Courageous leaders foster cultures in which trust, innovation, performance and satisfaction thrive. As a Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator, trained by Brené and her team, I offer this highly experiential and transformational curriculum to individuals and organizations. The entire curriculum is 24 hours, and can be delivered in full in various formats, or in components that meet particular needs.

Daring Greatly™ is a highly experiential curriculum for individuals based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. During the retreat, we’ll explore topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness. We will examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that hold us back and identify the new choices and practices that will move us toward more authentic and wholehearted living. Courage is contagious, and doing this work in group creates powerful shifts in perspective.
Rising Strong™ is based on the simple physics of vulnerability: if we are brave enough, often enough, we will fall. This curriculum walks us through what it takes to get back up, and how owning our stories of struggle give us the power to write a daring new ending. Struggle can be our greatest call to courage and the clearest path to a wholehearted life.
